PAINTINGS of the 70's,
Page 1
In the early 1970's Benini was living in Freeport, Grand Bahama, having settled there in 1969. Two bodies of work were reflective of this time. In studies of color and design his most frequent subjects were nudes and the female form, rending delicate colors in a hard-edge technique that distinctly separated the hues.
Benini also captured the island life and people - paintings with limbo dancers, congo
players, fishermen and children, also with the hard-edge technique and
strong colors.
